Work, work, work and more work ...

As you may or may not know, I am a Hairstylist by trade and am currently working as a Barber in a little shop in Tudor Glen Market Saint Albert Alberta! [I love being a barber, its precise, quick and the male environment is amusing to say the least] I possess a wee bit-o eduction in graphic design and love building fun brand identities for young businesses. [I am designing a piece for Joy Inc. I will post it when done :)] And I just finished designing and writing a curriculum for Mr Barber School on 121 street Jasper ave Edmonton Alberta. It has been handed in to industry standards-the apprenticeship board and is under review. [This makes me super happy...] Little projects here and there, yet all i dream about is fashion...

Ch ch ch ch ch ch Cherry Bomb

"Hello World I'm You're Wild Girl, I'm You're" - Runaways

In 1999 I began showing collections and producing fashion shows under the name Cherry Bomb Designs. While I was in school in 2004 I designed this lovely Cherry Bomb logo (notice the mask, the mask is a Cherie Howard brand thing) with the hopes of using it to launch my new collection (at the time). Well that never happened, cause I found at least half a dozen similar businesses using the same "Cherry Bomb" name. Major bummer! So I decided to change my design name and went through a few in the process. One of my favorites was GlamBam, a friend brilliantly designed my logo and I released 2 small collections under the name. I got rid of the GlamBam name cause I think it should have been GlamVam! I still might do it one day "GlamVam". Any who, designing under your own name is a no loose bet, considering I own my name and I've been using it now for 30 years :) and I still have a few wicked names up my sleeve, waiting to be used for spontaneous collector collections.

ahh life!

I remember when my boy was only a little creature, hm about yay high, running a muck and getting into copious amounts of trouble. Sebastien just turned 8, had his first real birthday party (which was so much fun) and is growing into an intelligent, determined young man. He can even tell you what a chrysalis is? Which is something I was truly unaware of. He loves spiders and bugs, lizards and snakes, Billy Talent and Kiss and helps clean up his dogs poo too! Wow my little creature is turning into a big monster, the good kind.

He is sick today, got an unsettled tummy. I can't go rescue him cause I'm stuck at work, not that work is sticky though, I just can't leave. He will have to suck it up and try to keep it together. I hope it's not a flu.
